Your attendees deserve something they’re still talking about on the way home.
Great conference programming doesn’t just inform people — it connects them. Blanket Fort creates literary programming that does both: from a single session that transforms a room to a full pre-conference experience that gets attendees connected before the opening keynote.
The Book Adventure
A 1–3 hour immersive experience for conference audiences of any size. Perfect as a kickoff, featured session, or evening event.
Participants form teams and step into a story-driven adventure — tackling surprising challenges, spotting in-universe references, and filling the room with laughter and playful competition in a delightfully unserious game. They leave energized, newly connected with the people around them, and reminded of the joy that first drew them to stories.
Education Sessions
Practical, hands-on sessions in 60-minute to full-day formats, led by Jenny Truax — a professional facilitator with 20+ years of experience. Available as standalone sessions or woven into the pre-conference retreat.
Topics include:
- Tools for Difficult Conversations
- Designing Inclusive Literary Gatherings
- Transforming Fans into Fan Communities
- Designing Participatory Reader Events
- Advanced Facilitation Skills for Book Conversations
Pre-Conference Retreat
Kick off the conference with a shared experience before the opening keynote. Through fun activities, thoughtful conversation, and a featured Book Adventure, participants step into a story together — and step into the conference already connected with the people around them.
They return to the main programming energized, newly connected with colleagues, and carrying fresh ideas for reader engagement they didn’t have the day before.
