About Blanket Fort

I’m Jenny Truax — a Jedi master facilitator, creator of extraordinarily original games, and planner of unforgettable gatherings. And Blanket Fort is the culmination of many different threads of my background.

As a kid, I camped out on bookstore floors every Sunday afternoon, paging through Choose Your Own Adventure books, hunting for the latest Star Trek paperback, and solving mysteries alongside the Three Investigators.

Later in my leadership role at Karen House, I learned the importance of gathering well, building community, and inviting people in.

I taught equity-centered facilitation for many years and for more than two decades, I’ve designed conferences, retreats, and learning spaces where people are actively practicing, moving, and connecting — not just listening.

Along the way, I founded St. Louis Fantasy Maps, a creative business built on nerdy mashups, citywide scavenger hunts, and collaborative games that drew hundreds of paying participants across the region. That work sharpened my instincts for large-scale play, logistical precision, and the kind of creative design that makes people say, “I’ve never done anything like that before!”

Lately, I’ve been hosting nature-based scavenger hunts and Taskmaster-style games on the 4 acres where I live.

It’s been a joy to integrate my facilitation skills with my love of nature and passion for community-building games.

Blanket Fort is the place where professional facilitation meets playful design — and I’d love to help you build something truly worth remembering.

Let’s build a fort together.
